Lesson 5 · Credits, refines, and history
The economics are simple: generation is the expensive thing; keeping it yours is cheap or free.
What you'll do
Understand the three price tags (10 / 1 / 0), when a refine beats a manual edit, and how history saves you next quarter.
The three price tags
| Action | Default cost | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Generate a listing | 10 credits | The heavy lift: reading every distinct photo, drafting, independent line-by-line verification, compliance — all five formats |
| AI refine | 1 credit — and the first refine on each listing is free | One focused pass, a tenth of the work |
| Manual edit | Free, always | Your words, your listing |
Defaults shown; plans, packs, and current pricing live at Buy credits → the pricing page — monthly plans with included credits, or one-time packs, checkout by Stripe.
The balance check happens before any expensive work starts — you'll never burn a generation to discover you were one credit short.
Refine or edit by hand?
Refine when the instruction is about the writing — "quieter opening", "shorten the caption", "less about the kitchen". The result is re-checked: still grounded, still compliant. Edit by hand when you already know the exact words. Free, instant — and those words are yours rather than p2d's checked output.
A sensible rhythm: generate → one free refine to taste → hand-polish details. Total cost per listing: 10 credits.
Your listings — the archive that compounds
Everything you generate is saved with its facts and its verification. This pays off on the timeline real listings actually live on:
- The price adjustment. Reopen the listing, refresh the price from the record, refine — no starting over.
- Relisting in spring. The confirmed features and your voice profile are waiting.
- The proof page stays available whenever a seller or broker asks how the copy was made.
What p2d does not keep
Worth knowing as clearly as what it keeps: your photos are processed in memory and not stored — only the derived feature list is kept so refines stay grounded. Your uploads aren't training data, and the copy p2d writes for you is yours — p2d claims no ownership over your output.
